Quick question here, as everyone knows, the bios sets ide drives ala primary master/slave, secondary master/slave, SATA drives on the other hand arent controlled by the bios, they are controlled by the SATA controller (and it's bios...)

So anyway, my question is this, if you have an IDE drive and a SATA drive in the same comp, how will you be telling the comp to boot from the SATA instead of the IDE? My bios doesnt appear to have an option to choose "SATA" for boot or anything, just IDE-0,IDE-1, etc, is it possibly an option in the SATA bios? I have an A7N8X-E Deluxe

I'm reasonably sure you use the SCSI entry in the boot sequence to boot from SATA, as A7N8X uses a PCI (It doesn't have to be a card in a PCI slot to be connected over PCI) SATA adapter. It nothing else, leave the 'Try other boot devices' option on, and it will find your SATA after it tries all of the otehr devices listed.
