Can some one please refer me to a good rugged/semi-rugged notebook PC for a soldier stationed in Iraq. Im looking for one in the sub $1600 range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any of the Toughbooks would do just fine. The fully rugged ones would be the best though.

You can pick some up on ebay very cheap. They are a very strong notebook and hold up very well under the conditions. We run 59 of them.

I think ebay might be the best route. It might be tough to find a rugged notebook in the $1600 range brand new, maybe around $2000. I'm looking into buying a few Toughbooks at the moment myself.

Another one to look at is durabook by twinhead. I know compusa at least use to sell them and I think bb may sell them now. They are not as good as the heavy duty toughbooks but are just as good if not better then the less rugged versions of the toughbook. Anyway they come in under that price as well.
