RTS games and stuttering

Just wondering if you guys experience stutters like I do in RTS games like Dawn of War and Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. If I scroll across the screen real quick I'll get some brief stutters.. and I'm just wondering if that's normal or not considering FRAPS tells me I get 135FPS in Dawn of War with full settings.

I'm on a 6800 GT, by the way.

I run Ground control 2 @4xAA 2xAF on my GT and it looks and runs beautifully. I'm not familiar with the games you listed...are they 3D or 2D?

They are both 3d. But now that you mention it... I did play the Ground Control 2 demo and I think even that was stuttering.

Would have to play again to confirm that though.

How much Ram do you have?

If you're running full settigs, you're probably dealing with a lot of textures and sounds so more ram is needed for a smoother operation.

Seconded. When a lot of stuff is going on in a demanding RTS ram becomes very important.

I'm running a gig of Crucial Ballistix....

I'm starting to get a little worried because my friend says he doesn't notice the stutters in Soldiers. :(

that could be lots of things. a few of the nforce 3 boards have this problem with some games.
