I have a RTL8168 gigbit NIC onboard my motherboard (Gigabyte Ga-P35-DS3R)
i have it connected to a gigabit switch with Cat5e
and another cat5e cable connected to WHS box with an intel gigabit PCI-e NIC
the WHS box connects at 1000mb/s both under device manager and as show by the link LEDs on the switch.
I cant get the RTL8168 to connect at 1000mb/s it keeps reverting to 100mb even when i try different drivers, and try and force it under link speed in the device manager properties.
i have swapped cables, ports and everything else i can think of. i am currently running windows 7 RC on the uncooperative machine. i have tried the vista drivers, and the server 2003 drivers both only run at 100mb
