Hi, I read a lot of rss feeds through out the day. It makes things a lot easier. I was wondering would it be possible to have an rss feed for each of the forums? I know there are several othe froums that are out that have this.

As an asside. what about haveing multiple types of RSS feeds for Hard OCP. For some reason the rss feed that exists I can't get to work in any aggregator of mine.

Thanks, and I love these forums. I have learned a lot and only been a member for a day.

Please be patient as we are working on newer and better ways of you never having to actually visit our sites at all.

I visit the site a lot and will continue to. Sometimes I just don't have the time to but i would like to look through a list of thread titles and read them if i can post a reply I can. I don't see how that is negative in anyway. It just makes it easier to get more help on the forums.

It was a simple question a simple no would have worked. If you want to accept it or not RSS is becoming big and will continue to get bigger. I just thought it would be a cool feature to have. I visit the forums that I have an rss feed to everyday when I am not at home with my aggregator same thing with this site. Maybe next time I will try another site for help.

We are thinking of using humor in future postings as well. Stay tuned.

I think the underlying point is he would rather have people come to the site to read the articles, rather than have people get the info without having to come here.

Notice that big shiney flashy Newegg banner up top? I'm sure Kyle appreciates when people come to the site, and then click the banner to check out the deals. I tend to do that twice a day. Once from work, once from home. :D

Supporting this site by clicking banners makes you l33t. And buying stuff from Newegg and putting the [H] as a reference makes you Üb3r L33t.

I too click it a few times a day

I was googling for RSS feeds for [H], and this thread came up. Do you think that having the first bit of the article in the feed really prevents people from reading your site? I understand that you are dependent on advertising for revenue, but your logic is backwards. I would read more [H] articles if I could know what they were about, especially since the titles are often misleading or sarcastic (I love the relaxed style!). Having feeds for the forums would also be nice, letting me keep tabs and help out where I can. Its possible to advertise in feeds too.....

Why the resistance to change when so many sites have made it such a success? As a follower of the tech industry you guys more than anyone should realize that resistance to change is futile, you'll only get left behind.

I look forward to complete RSS feeds for the [H], but until then I'll get my hardware news from the many other sites that are out there. Here are a few:

Ars Technica
Anandtech Articles
Anandtech News
Tom's Hardware Articles
Tom's Hardware News

Thanks for your thoughts. I would highly suggest trying out their forums as well.

Kyle told you!

I recall reading in the past, if you searched a bit more, that this feature is under consideration and may be part of some more extensive subscription service in the future. I'm sure all in good time there will be better RSS available for the [H].

I don't even understand the logic behind this post. You say you don't always have time to visit the site and would sometimes like to just read the thread titles and respond to them when you can. Isn't that exactly what one does when visiting the site? How would this save time? You don't have to click as much?

Am I missing something?

edit: I'm not arguing for or against either, just trying to understand this post

RSS feeds are just nice to have if you use them. If you use an aggregator or even a personalized home page like Yahoo or http://www.google.com/ig
It is nice to have latest headlines of your favorite sites all in one place. It saves you time to see if there is something new or of interest to you. So yeah, it will save you clicks looking for new news when there is none.

I don't really see a point to RSS actual forums, it changes so much so fast, especially here, you might as well just go and visit the site. It works well for news where change isn't so rapid.
