RPC error similiar to blaster but no worm :(

On a laptop everytime it has a network connection it comes up with that RPC error and wants to restart the computer. I've changed the time to 30 minutes. I've even done a clean install of the OS and I'm still getting this problem come up. I've scanned for the blaster and nothing shows up. Also the drive was completely formatted.

Anybody come across something like this before? I need some kind of a fix...
 
You may want to install the blaster worm patch anyways. I have had this as well. After a format without any firewall, that message will pop up in like 5 minutes within windows. Installing the blaster worm patch fixes it up.

yeah

nowadays when you reinstall windows, you cant even have your network cable plugged in until you get a firewall/NAV (or other AV)

then i make my way over to windows update.
 
also, heres a tip, when the rcp thing comes up, type shutdown /a

if that doesnt work try shutdown \a

hehe, i forget which one it is
