So I've had my Rosewill RP500-2 for a little over three years now. It has seen a few different components over the years, but mainly has powered my current system for about 2.5 years comprised of: E8400, MSI 8800GTS G92, DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS, G.SKILL 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 1000 RAM, a DVD burner, and two 250GB SATA HDDs .
I've messed with overclocking my CPU and video card over time and as such my system has seen variable voltages and clock rates. I use a Zalman CNPS9500 HSF on my E8400 and was never able to obtain 4Ghz stable. I currently run my CPU at 3.6Ghz (450x8) with a Vcore of 1.39V and my 8800GTS at stock settings (I've overclocked it before but it wasn't able to do much more than stock and temperatures were high so I bumped it back down to stock speeds). Idle temperatures are around 43C for my CPU and 59C for my video card.
I'm in the middle of planning a system upgrade, but I think the first component to get would be a new power supply (I was thinking a Corsair 750TX or 850TX for 1GB GTX 460 in SLI one prices drop some more). However, what I was curious about and wondering was if my power supply would possibly be a limiting factor for my overclock, namely during gaming/benchmarking, especially given the fact that it's three years old.
