Hi:

I have a problem forwarding internet requests to my win2k server.

Router: 3com office connect gateway (192.168.1.1)

DHCP, DNS, & Web Server: Windows 2000 Server
(static ip: 192.168.1.120, sn: 255.255.255.0 , gateway: 192.168.1.1, DNS: 127.0.0.1)

In my router settings, I have set a Virtual Server IP Address for port 80 to 192.168.1.120.

At work, I tried typing in my IP address and it doesn’t display my website. What could be wrong? This should work, no? Internally, everything is working fine.

I’m confused.

What is displaying when you attempt to connect?

If the webserver is on a residential account, the ISP may be blocking port 80.

i'm gonna call my isp and find out because it's just a small website and stuffs.

SJConsultant, did you get my PM? Actually, the script is working fine. just 2 out of 4 hard drives died on me :(

just make it work on port 8080 through router and forward it to 80 on the machine in the router forward table.

and just add a :8080 to the end of your IP when you try to type it in to a browser

also try dyndns.org and get a free secondary domain off them for it :) my router even supports dyndns directly!

What IP are you trying to connect to?

Also, some routers don't handle going out through NAT, then back in through NAT to a forwarded port too well.

i didn't do anything and it is now working, weird.

thanks guys for your info...
