Is there any benefit other than increasing air flow in the case to using rounded IDE cables?

If they are worth using, can someone recommend where to buy "the best" cables?

1) Airflow.
2) Looks pretty.
3) Shielded (if you buy that type).

Buy some Vantec's or something. Maybe others can recommend a better brand. Stores can be like Xoxide.com or anywhere really. Just go by the brand names when someone recommends.

You can make your own from your flat IDE cables. Just CAREFULLY seperate the strands of the cable into splits of like 5-6 or so. Then, just take tape or use zip ties to secure the cable into a round form and you are done. You get the increase in airflow(which isn't going to help you that much and if your doing mods to need round cables to keep the CPU cool, you should just invest in the round ones). I personally don't think its that big of an increase. It helps some, but air just flows in and out of the case. The fans in the rear of your case are still going to pull the same amount of air as they did before.

I really don't have much of a say though because I run all round IDE cables since they came with my DFI Lan Party Pro.

Cliff Notes: Try making your flat IDE cables round yourself before you really want to go an buy a new cable that won't make much difference.
 
When ordering what sizes are recommended by you guys? I will most likely hide the majority of mine behind the mobo tray, but what size for say.... 1 CD Rom 1 DVD Rom (my HDD is SATA, and I dont need no stinkin floppy)

When I say I am hiding them, I want to know what size you recommend if I were to just let them hang. Also Midtower case.
