Roughing up plexiglass

Hi,

How are the results of using sandpaper on plexiglass? Reason being, the Dinovo Edge keyboard is a fingerprint hell and I was thinking about running some 2000 grit sandpaper on it and maybe turn it into a matte finish. Not sure what the results would be like, or if 2000 is too much/not enough.

Do you think that would ruin the touch sensitive volume controls??
