Legit Reviews says it was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Rosewill Capstone 750W PSU. If you are in the market for a power supply, you might want to read this review.

Overall, the performance of the Capstone 750W is unexpectedly good, considering it is one of the first high performance power supplies that Rosewill released and the fact that the company is usually aiming for maximum value instead of top performance. Aside from the high electrical efficiency, which we could expect from a power supply bearing the 80Plus Gold certification, the 750W version of the Capstone also delivers excellent electrical performance, with tight voltage regulation and excellent ripple suppression.

I'll be darned, I thought Rosewill was a company to stay away from at all costs.

Depends on the line. Rosewill just rebrands. These units are made by the OEM Superflower, a brand really on a tear in the rest of the world. They make great high end units at reasonable prices.

That non modular model seems really messy unless you're running quad SLI and 10 HDDs.

seems like a nice unit though.

Agreed.

I wonder if there are any differences between the modular and non-modular of the same wattage?
I like to pick up the Seasonic x650 or x750 when they are on sale a t the Egg, but this is good to know for when a unit is needed right away and can't wait for a sale.

They're internally identical (apart from the modular connector board, of course) and they're excellent units.

As for the cable mess... I can't see how it can be any different... it's a non-modular, high end 750W unit, it's gonna' have a crapload of cables... there's no way to address this except modularity, and that's been done.

Not bad and a little surprising. Usually rosewill is what I think of when I want the computer to catch on fire in a year. Might have to give it consideration for tightwads..I mean "budget builds". :D

Rosewill has had a few units I saw reviewed that weren't junk. If I'm not sure of the overall brand quality, I like to see a good review of it especially.

Rosewill doesn't make anything themselves that I know of. They do hire OEMs to make stuff for them. The Capstone Gold series is made by SuperFlower, and they are pretty good, though I think many of SuperFlower's designs do not have MOVs. Therefore you should always use them with surge protectors or UPSes... but you should probably do that anyway even with PSUs that have built-in MOVs, just to be safe.

SuperFlower also makes PSUs for Kingwin, In fact, HardOCP even reviewed some of them and awarded them high marks:
