So right now Rome 2 does not work with SLI, to the point where a single card is actually faster in most cases. We've received several explanations about how the game is supposedly not compatible with SLI on a basic level, and it's something the game devs would need to fix first.
Now we have reviews of the 290x with Crossfire working great in Rome 2.
