It must be the Christmas season if the game companies begin to give away presents. Rockstar is offering the original trilogy maps from Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for download and it’s free.

I do love me some GTA -- fond memories growing up. I remember playing the original and having fun, playing GTA3 and being blown away that it was an entire city I could play in 3d.

Honestly though -- I've had a few large printed maps included in the copies Ive bought, nice extra but who ACTUALLY sits there with the map next to them while playing? I know I sure didn't -- even having it hanging on a nearby wall is a bit "weird" IMO.

How about giving is GTA5 for PC? That would be a pretty awesome late christmas present if you could roll it out spring of 2013 :)

Since I just bought GTA3 for Android, the map will come in handy. Thanks for the heads-up, MajorDomo.

Were the old GTA's really THIS small? Well, I guess thinking back on it GTA 3 was pretty tiny in comparison to GTA 4 and other open world games.

San Andreas is the biggest one to date so far right?

I still have my maps from when I bought the games on PC.
I would, but I beat GTA:SA in less than a week, and threw the game up on ebay where I basically sold it for $5 less than I paid for it (minus whatever fees there were at the time). Not a bad rental IMO.

What I would like from R* for Christmas is them letting me throw money at them to buy RDR for PC.

I must be a weirdo because I ALWAYS put the maps on the wall near where I am playing.
