I have watched this video ten times and I still can’t figure out what it is supposed to be doing. Unless I am missing something, the only practical use I can see for this robot is to play tricks on my blind mother by randomly shuffling crap all around the table.

If you ever went into a sushi bar where there is an moving line with sushi plates, than you can imagine the great advantage of this invention.
 
lmao...I couldnt stop cracking up thinking about what a waste of time this was for someone...hope they accomplished what they set out to do though.
 
It's not that lame an idea. For example, a self loading cargo hold for aircraft. Trust me from having worked their, a 747 cargo hold isn't tall enough to stand in - this would be a great thing to have embedded in the cargo floor.

I thought about building one of these once, but I couldn't figure out what you could actually use one for. Seems like they had the same problem.
 
what it is doing is passing illegal stuff under the table. keeps people think it is just a weird invention that is useless on top of the table.

Well i have no clue what it does too
 
It's just a bunch of electromagnets. In theory with some added hardware you could much more fluidly control the stuff on top of the table. But, aside from being spooky and flying a pen around on top of a table (covering up the electromagents), there isn't much use.
