Due to a problem that was occurring while playing World of Warcraft (random video lockups) that I thought may be heat-related, I purchased an NV Silencer 5 Rev 3. My temps while playing the game with my stock cooler sometimes got up to 80C.
However, once I installed the NV Silencer, I noticed that my temperatures were even higher, getting close to 90C while playing the game. A close inspection revealed that the base of the heatsink wasn't making good contact with the chip and the surrounding shim. I've tried reseating the heatsink multiple times, but still cannot make good contact.
Just wondering if it would be possible to RMA this to get another, since the heatsink really isn't able to work properly after following the directions exactly. Thanks.
