Well I was having some problems with my 560Ti. I was getting aritfacts and it was locking up when I would start games.

So I sent it in for repair. About a week goes by and I hadent heard anything so I contacted them and told me there was trace damage and couldnt be repaired. So I had them send it back to me.
Not being sure what trace damage was at the time I looked it up.

Today I get it back and look at the trace damage and it looks like dust to me. The dust came off and the trace looks fine to me. But I will admit the inner workings of my card are a bit over my head.

Here is a before and after shot of a spot on the PCB where the dust was wiped off. Is this indeed trace damage?

And this is after I wiped off the dust from that spot...

i'd email evga back with that exact post. doesnt look like any physical damage to me.. seems they just wanted to be cheap

Yea I am having a hard time finding any physical damage at all, it looks like dust... and under the dust it looks fine... Oh and its not an evga card.

While it doesn't quite match what they said, it sounds like they suspected that something was dripped onto the card to cause that stain and was unwarrantable because of it. It just looks like some dust collecting on leftover factory solder flux to me.

Yea nothing was dripped on the card, it went from the box right into the computer when I got it. and there it sat for the next 11 months.
