Riva Tuner and OC issues

I'm using Riva Tuner to OC all my cards, but most of my systems have multiple cards and the OC doesn't stick on all the cards after a reboot. Only one card will retain it's shader OC. Is this problem remedied in newer versions of RT or is there a way around it? Sometimes, I neglect to check my OC after restarting my systems, and they may fold for hours at stock levels not realizing RT failed to retain the settings I previously selected for all my cards. This happens on every system with multiple cards and one of these systems has four cards...

Also, there's a Zotac card in one of my systems that slows down a lot after a couple of days, yet RT still reports the same shader OC. I lose approximately 1000 PPD and no amount of tweaking will regain optimum performance except for a reboot. Has anyone else seen this with any of their cards? It does not appear to be a RT issue specifically since it displays whatever OC I choose. It's not a heat issue either, the HSF is only warm. It almost seems as if there's some kind of 'timer' and after 2-3 days, the OC drops. It does this all the time... :(

RT has always to my knowledge had these issues. Nothng I have found fixes it. I will be watching for solutions :)

the problem is that it can only save 1 card setting for the auto overclock on boot..

so your best option is to use profiles.. setup the profile for the overclocks for each card and put them on your desktop.. when you restart just load the overclocked profile.. could also try putting the shortcut to the profile in your startup folder and see if it works that way as well..

as for the Zotac..you could try looking in the system monitor tab that shows the temps and clocks for the card.. rivatuner is the only program that will accurately show this information.. gpu-z just shows what ever setting you put it.. instead of the actual gpu/shader/ram clocks..

I never had an issue with Nv's tool pack, not Ntune, but its the mobo tools you can dl from their site

held my 3 88's wherever I put them. latest one is 6.1 or something

If you have even 1 eVGA card, I'd get the eVGA Precision Tool. I use it on all of my boxen (well all my cards are eVGA so no worries there) and it is by far the EASIEST tool for the job. Set it and forget it :D

I just use the NV tools for the nvidia download site for all my cards.
Its the easiest way to setup profiles IMO

the tool should work on all cards.. I know it works on my powercolor 8800GT and my evga 8800GT.. you just need a evga account to download the program from their site..

OK, I'm going to try creating profiles. If I place multiple profiles in the startup folder, they should all load correctly?

The card is running at quite low temperatures. Around the mid-50s...so it's definitely not a temperature issue. It happens even with a small OC and this is a dual slot card with an 80mm fan instead of stock. It is the coolest card I have running in my entire farm. It's also the only Zotac and the only 1GB card I have but I know that isn't the problem...

It's like clockwork, roughly every 2 days the clocks revert to stock settings and nothing but a reboot will permit me to OC the card again. The other card (BFG) in the system which is running temps in the 70s, does not have that problem and neither does any other card in my farm. The weird thing is, RT still reports the OC frequencies despite the card's performance dropping 900-1000 PPD on most WUs, and drops 1500 PPD on the 353 WUs... :(

yeah i believe it should work with them in the start up folder.. but i guess the only way to find out is to try.. ive never done it personally since i only run a single card.. but its worth a shot..

as for the second part thats weird that it would revert back to stock clocks.. almost sounds like its going in and out of 2D and 3D mode.. but if i remember correct the 8 series didnt have a 2D mode.. but ive never checked on mine since i run dual displays which automatically locks the card in 3D mode anyways..
