I have DVD burning software(Sonic MYDVD), and my wife (the dance teacher) got a DVD from the cameraman. I'd like to rip the video from the DVD, then burn it in different ways to give to the children. What is the easiest/cheapest way to rip the DVDs to hard drive? It has no encryption.

The DVD is separated into chapters, which are the individual dance numbers. What I need to be able to do is sort the dances into just the dances that individual students are in, and burn that session into DVD. I can rip an iso of the DVD no problem with DVD Decrypter, but i guess I need to extract them as Mpeg2 or WMV. Once I get it there, it's all easy, I'm just having problems getting there...

I don't know about Sonic MyDVD but I have Pinnacle Studio 9 and I can open a file in it (like from a dvd) and it will go through a "detecting scenes" stage. Once that's done I can then edit the scenese however I see fit.
