I'm just posting this data as a point of curiosity....no surprises but some may find it useful.

Data is from the rig in sig, using latest drivers for both.

2D: 4.4% for onboard, 3.3% for Santa Cruz
3D: 7.5% 4.1%
3D+EAX2: 8.4% 5.2%

Obviously neither can do EAX higher than 2.
The onboard will run benches in openAL and uses: 7.5% across the board (2d/3d/3d+eax2).
 
Yeah, but it suits my needs and capability of my PC speakers.
And Creative isn't getting any of my business.
