Right CPU with 4850?

I just ordered a new rig and the GPU is the 4850 and the CPU is below, will the CPU bottleneck my system?

Most dual-cores (and any quad) match up well with the HD4850. In fact, even with a Q6600 (Intel's cheapest quad-core), more often than not, it won't be the CPU holding performance back (more likely than not, it would be, surprisingly, the display, as either the resolution or the refresh rate, if not both, would be limiting factors in non-CPU-bound games and processes). In other words, we're about to re-discover what a display-bound application looks like.
 
I'd clock it nearer 3GHz to get the most out of the card.
In general, my 8800GT requires my E8400 to run at 2.7GHz before performance increases flatline.
Some games need more CPU than that.
The 4850 is likely to need more CPU than my GT to get the highest framerates.
 
With the Q6600 G0 as cheap as it is, I would go that route. With descent ram 3.6ghz is a breeze. I game at 3.2...and going to 3.6 I didn't see much if any improvement in games.
 
Your CPU should be able to hit at least 3.6GHz on stock volts. If you're worried about bottlenecking, Just grab a cheap aftermarket cooler like the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 (currently $27 after MIR on Newegg) and overclock the sucker.
 
Maybe with a Decent MoBo, the Q6600 will hit 3.6 Ghz, but my craptastic motherboard tops out at 3 Ghz. I think a dual core will be fine for gaming. I have an E4400 at 3Ghz with a 4850 and it runs fantastically. Not earthshatterngly different from my Q6600@ 3.0Ghz with a 4870. Just overclock that fantastic Processor (E7200) to 3.2+ Ghz which would be easy to hit with the new Wolfdale core.

You're good to go with that CPU.
