Right, as I was doing my 3 month cleaning for dust, I decide to take the chance of installing a new CPU cooler instead of just blowing out dust.

Anyways, one of the mounting screws is stuck in the hole of my Mobo.

No amount of twisting will get it loose at all.

Any ideas?

can you see the other end of the screw and verify it isn't screwed into anything?

Once i'd visually confirmed that there was nothing except gunk keeping it in there i'd probablly try just pulling it out with a pair of long nose pliers.

If you can turn it then either the screw is stripped or the standoff it's attached too is broken. If its stripped you can pry it out. If the standoff is spinning you can slide in a long flathead screwdriver to keep it from spinning while you turn the screw out.

It isn't just gunk.

That was one of the four cpu mounting screws for the bracket, so the screw isn't stripped.

It was stuck with the backplate (the only one of the 4), but with some wiggling, I got the plate off, but now the back of the screw isn't completely circular.

Never mind, I fixed it using Needlenose pliers and a quarter.

TY all, turns out the second piece of advice by NoEcho worked.
