I've been on the website seen screenshots, but Im curious if anyone here has played it and what they think of it... Also, is it at all similar to world of warcraft as far as community and game play quality?

Very similar to WoW in terms of gameplay. When you fire it up and see the interface your first thought will probably be "This looks just like WoW." Quality is extremely good overall. Game has almost no bugs, the graphics are very pretty, there's plenty to do and so on. The sound effects are a bit banal and the animation isn't as good as the graphics, but overall is very well done.

Ex Wow/Everquest player here. The game is pretty awesome. That about sums it out. It may seem similar to WoW, but as you delve a bit deeper it offers a good twist to the everyday MMO. From my experiences, the community seems better than WoW. Although I'm sure there are douche bags abound, I've yet to run into one.

It's the smoothest mmo launch in a long time. Very little bugs and glitches. I've been plaing lotro these last four years, and this has been a pretty good transition for me. The graphics are sharp, lots of variety in character progression, the PvP is great (a bit unbalanced right now, but not to the point of ruining the experience), and I've enjoyed the leveling experience so far.

Yeah its a fun game, I actually enjoy leveling in it, cant say the same about WoW where leveling feels like a chore.

It's pretty good. The number of people coming to it from WoW means that the community can be fairly twatty, though.

it has one thing really going for it; it's new and has grabbed attention. when it wanes (and it will) it will take its place by warhammer and aion.

I am an ex wow player. I am in the new player zone. So far I am pretty bored with all the 'kill something 5x then come back' quests.

It's very similar in most ways to WoW, EQ, etc. Very good launch. I suppose long term success of the game now depends on how well the devs can pump out fresh content and balance the souls for PvP and stuff.

There's rifts (of course), invasions and zone wide events in most zones everyday, then warfronts...dungeons etc... They didn't reinvent the wheel but there's more to do than kill XYZ and FedEx quests

Remember, the new player zone is meant for new players, so its not going to be the most complex. Give it at least till the teens or 20s in levels.

That's what an MMORPG is. I would have thought an "ex wow player" would have understood this.

This game is very WoWish in its design. It takes the best from WoW (though there are a little too many kill/fetch quests), throws in a bit of Warhammer, and adds a unique flair of its own. It controls very well, is perfectly responsive (unlike Warhammer), and the interface works beautifully.

Whoever said this had a smooth launch was right. I've gone through quite a few MMO launches, and this was by far the smoothest launch I have ever experienced. The only real issue on launch was server overpopulation, and that was quickly solved with more servers. 80% of servers still reach High population in peak hours, and very few ever have queues anymore. The population is fairly healthy at this point, though we'll see how it goes after the first month is up.

Lets me see, it has been a very long time, that I am actually excited to go home and play my toon on a game. Last game that managed to do that, was DAOC. WoW I would get on for my friends not because I wanted to really play WoW. From my 5 friends played WoW 4 have actually moved to Rift and one just stop playing all-together. Im taking my time leveling up and mixing it up, only level 31 but I have not felt bored. The 3 dungeon I have seen are cool and cant wait to re-do them when I hit 50. I have done the 6 months sign up and NO mmorpg has ever gotten me to sign up for more then 3 months at a time. So those are my 2 cents for this game.
