Reviving a Dead Card

My computer repeatedly crashes and I have reason to suspect it is my GeForce 6800gt.

Here's what happens, I power up the computer and Windows starts to load; however, it is full of artifacts:

After the computer loads, the monitor ceases to receive signal from video card and I am forced to manually turn off the computer.

I believe it is the video card because if it is removed (and I use the on board card), the computer works normally.

I have tried to fix it by:
* Re-installing the card (both hardware and software)
* Checking all the connections
* Cleaning the card

I have not modded it at all or changed the settings since I bought it 2 years ago.

Here are my specs:

2.8GHz
1024MB ram
GeForce 6800GT
Windows XP Pro

This isn't the first time I've had an issue with this card (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=952454)

Anyone have any suggestions or should I begin my search for a new video card?

Wouldn't happen to be a leadtek would it? I had a leadtek 6800gt agp a while back. Simply put, worst card I ever owned. Theyy replaced it 4 times same problem within 5 days of each card. Tons of artifacts. So they gave me a refund and I bought a 7800gtx after that that came with the sweet mobo that I have in my sig for free :) Still using that mobo also, fucking kicks ass.

i had a leadtek 6800le that died. they replaced it with a 6800xt after months of waiting that also died. had the same artifacts as the screen shot above.

i've not returned it as i had unlocked the pipes.

all i can say is that leadtek customer service sucks.

anyhow, i don't think there's a way to revive dead cards.

I had a Leadtek 6800GT also, but had no problems, was an amazing card.

Its a BFG card, from the post he linked.

Call them, theyll exchange it. Theyre pretty good about that, I just hope you get a card that works
