Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
So i ripped my perfectly good G5 to mod my supermicro board into so what next ?
I have a full parts bin of working g5 bits, should i junk together a REVERSE hackintosh ??
In what ? some ricer type neon early 2000s windowed case ? Or a beige win 98 oem ?
I'd hardly call it a reverse hackintosh if you can't run anything but an old version of MacOS or very old version of Linux on it.
That said, how about putting the innards in a cardboard box with my shipping address (and postage) on the top and seeing if it runs inside the mailbox?
Aside from the nonstandard form-factor, that water cooling setup is too heavy and too tall to mount without support (and in true Apple fashion, can it even run horizontally if you found such a case?). Apple succeeds in creating something that just won't work anywhere else without building a layout copy of their own case.
