Revamping the Bios

How do I revamp the BIOS ?


I bought a PC online and the dude locked the PC with a pass and can't remember it. I could get in Windows fine but not the bios. Could I remove that BIos and install a new one ? Someone told me I should flash the CMOS ?

get the user manual and follow the instructions for clearing the BIOS (usually a jumper/shorting pads/button when power is off and disconnected)

it has a CMOS button ; could that be it ?

dude just clear out CMOS and reset it. there are jumper settings on your mobo. its normally 3 pins.

say if these "1" represents the pins and you normally would have 3 of them so...

and now your jumper was placed on pins 2 and 3 then it will look like this

so then remove the jumper so it looks like this

[11]1

then power on the PC (it probably wont power on at this point)

and now remove it back to

1[11]

now try getting into your bios.
