Does anybody know if monarch computer would pricematch current priced of their card to a card within return timeframe. Now the only reason I would do this, is to perhaps fund an SLI rig composed of the same cardx2, but for 150 dollars cheaper per card. I would even use the same online vendor, but that 150 dollars they have right now is porhibiting me from making this leap, as I have *somewhat* constrained my new pc budget. Any suggestions?

Edited:
(IN responce to getting bitched out: I JUST WANT THEM TO DO A CURRENT PRICEMATCH SO I CAN PLUNK DOWN ANOTHER 500)

It's the exact same card from the same vendor but for a cheaper price? I dont see the dilema here at all. I would even try calling their customer support and asking about a refund for the difference. Or am I reading your statement wrong?

So some people could see this as immoral, but please read through to the end. I bought a 7800gtx for 620 about 1 month ago, and I could still return it. What vendor did you go through? If they don't have a restocking fee then there is no need to return the card. Go to the vender and explain you purchased the card for this amount and the card is still within it's return policy period and it dropped. They should credit you. Like at Best Buy if you purchase something within 30 days and the price drops they will give you a credit.

I wonder if they would will give me a refund on my stocks I bought at a higher price as well?

You guys know damn well that if you buy a product the day it launches or shortly after that it will be at a premium. I think that premium is the price you pay for having it and using it for the last month when everyone else does not have one.

...and people wonder why video cards cost so damn much?

If that is the protection you want, because the card is now cheaper, then he should have purchased it at Best Buy or a company that has a price protection policy. Still, returning it after using it for a month and being satisfied is just bullshit in my book.

Where did you order from that there isn't a restocking fee? Most online vendors impose something like a 15% restocking fee on all non-defective returns.

Yea, same card, same vendor, was 620, now 500, I called and spoke with one guy, he gave me the competition changes prices etc, may just try another another rep. 120 dollars in less than a month is rediculous.

To all those who believe this to be wrong, I know its not the best thing to do to a vendor, but like I said, I will gladly purchace TWO cards at 500 if they give me my 120 dollars back for the first card, I think that takes away some of the moral issue.

If the card was not worth what you paid for it, then you should not have purchased it.

Bullshit... you ARE being shady then. If you've been around at all in the hardware community, you know exactly how it works. You pay the premium for buying early. I paid $299 for my X800 XL when it came out, and it dropped $50 pretty quick. BFD. I was building a system and got the card I wanted when I wanted it. I wasn't gonna bitch and moan, and potentially F-over vendors and other customers, because I was happy and satisfied with my purchase. Grow up and take some responsibility for your actions.

Thread like this usually doesnt have positive outcome :( ...Its been posted before...
I bought x850xtpe @$585 and sold it for $315...to purchase another new card for $599. Thats the price for upgrade, eat it and move on ;)

So you know it's wrong, but you'll do it anyway. Nice. You got to love today's society where everyone must have what they want NOW. Instant gratification.

Here's an idea... live with the purchase you made, save up the extra $150 over the next month or three, then buy another card WHEN YOU CAN AFFORD IT.

Jeez guys, I'm just trying to get the vendor (monarch) to pricematch their current selves so I can give them another 500 dollars of my money, calm the f down.

So you asked a question about something that you tacitly acknowledged was wrong, then you get defensive when people say it's wrong and don't do it. If you don't want opinions, then don't ask.

I repeat:

IMO, if they have a policy where they will refund the difference if the price drops in 30 days like some of the major B&M stores, then great, because the cost of that policy has probably already been added into the products they sell. If not, then it's shady and you are screwing other consumers with your greed. You are costing the company money and they will then have to pass that cost on to all the people who go there to buy 7800's to make up for your issues.

Ok...anybody know if monarch would do this, from experience?

You already know the answer apparently... you just aren't happy with it.

Yea, same card, same vendor, was 620, now 500, I called and spoke with one guy, he gave me the competition changes prices etc, may just try another another rep. 120 dollars in less than a month is rediculous.

Yea, but as some people know, different reps give different answers. I've seen many threads regarding finding a good dell rep to give you the new hotness deal.

Well, I guess if you are still willing to screw Monarch, or their customers, then just keep calling different reps until someone will break their policy and give you want you want.

Well that's why I was asking what vendor he purchased the card from to see if they have that price protection.

Obviously if they did, he would not be talking about this huge moral question would he?

whoa crazy the editor and chiefs bashing on someone and killing a thread ._.

i asked monarch computers to pricematch and theyll do it as long as its the same item and if they didnt ship it yet. i jus emailed them and they fixed it right up

I have marked this price correction on your order.

Maybe you arent the sharpest tool in the shed either, I'm just trying to recoup some cost to buy some more gear, ass.

I bought early, and paid the premium to get the new vid card on the block, now I want my money back even though I know all PC hardware has a premium up front, then drops in price. I'm a swell guy.
