My dell p991 17" trinitron flat screen monitor is farting, its old about 4 years and its been under 10 hour a day use and the screen turns up blurry frequently now... looks as if u are looking thru the eyes of a near sighted person. Anywho, im shopping for a 17" lcd and i know what to look for i am just not sure which manufacturer offers the best deals on dead pixels... I have heard alot about how people get 2 dead pixels in the center of the screen and policies are alot more dead pixels... can anyone point me to a manufacturer that has a good dead pixel policy? (yes i did research of my own i just want ur guys's opinions)

The best and most generous dead pixel replacement policy company is Dell. Check out the various 2001fp threads.

ya i saw a disclaimer at the bottom tho that thier warrenty only applies to monitors bought with a dell system? is this true?

Dell's is probably the best one. No, the warranty will cover the stuff that's not bought with a comp. Someone else on this board bought an FP2001 and has had it replaced by Dell like 8 times or more because of dead pixels.

does dell's warrenty include non-dell branded lcd's sold in thier lcd section? or would i have to call them for that info?
