Long story short

I manage to get about 10 P4 cpus and 1 pentiumD, they all have somewhat heavy corrosion and rust.

Just for kicks I'd like to see if I can get some of them to work. Do anyone know how to remove rust and corrosion from a CPU?
 
are we talking about the top of the cpu or the underside with the pins? top side use high grit sandpaper and sand off the rust, underside...uhhh toothbrush?
 
I can't imagine the bottoms having rust as the pins are gold, basically... the sockets they were in had tin-metal contacts, so perhaps that's where the corrosion came from.

I'd shave off all the gold pins myself and see what I could get for the "bulk" gold. :D
 
I'll post some pics soon.

There's also a few so-dimm sticks. A couple of them are 1gb, it would be nice if they worked.
