Hey Everyone,

When I built my rig a few months ago and did my fresh install of winxp it would boot in under 30 seconds and shutdown almost instantly. Now after a few months and a few more programs my computer seems more sluggish and it's seem to lost it's zip. It takes over 2 min to boot up and about 3-4 to shut down. Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Have you set the Pagefile?

Turned off startup programs that you do not need?

Turned off application running in the background that you do not need?

Best bet is to go to this site TweakXP.com and perform the tweaks that are listed there. Should improve performance greatly.

Check for viruses and spyware if you haven't already. Use AVG for viruses (if you don't have an Anti virus program already) and use Spybot S&D to find spyware
