I Know that have a too slower response time cause ghosting and tries when playing like 12-14-15ms ecc.....
But I look many post by users that tell me that there's not ghosting or trails with 5 or 8ms TN, IPS or VA pannels.

I ask to you :

is really important have a fast response time like 2ms ? what is the difference from a slower response like 5 or 8ms ?
can 2ms to responsive time to be more fluid the animation respect a another slower monitor ?

For example the Dell U2311H have 8ms to responsive time, but all users tell to me that this monitor dont have any ghosting or stries in the animations.
What is the vantages to have the lower responsive time ?

first the response time specs on tfts are usually total bs
in reality a "8ms" tft can have faster pixel response than a "1ms"
they are just bogus values

faster response time decreases blur/ghosting but it also makes motion less fluid on low refresh rates
you generally want fast response time

its all about the use of overdrive or not to accelerate pixels. Depends of the panel type.
IPS/VA without overdrive will be at 16 or 12ms. With Overdrive they are rated at 8ms or 6ms.
TNs without overdrive are rated at 5ms. With overdrive 2ms or 1(BS).

Ok but if i play with a fast game like a FPS ( black ops, battlefield ecc... ) with the same PC but with 2 monitors for example 45- 50fp/s................. in a 2ms monitor this fp/s are the same in a 5 or 8ms monitor ?

I only will see less ghosting and blur effect whene i'll move the mouse without a more fluid fp/s ? :|

or with the slower monitors i perceive less fps than a faster monitor ?

a monitor with a slow response time will have a perceived 'motion blur' effect to it kind of like cracking up that particular setting in crysis then moving around quickly. It's really not bad at all on the dell 2311 IPS panels or any panels with overdrive built in but with a samsung 2333 PVA panel yes it's pretty noticeable.

The FPS is not changed... a 60 hz monitor can display up to 60FPS, it just won't look as good at a solid 60FPS, it will have that motion blur effect. Input lag is the most important thing for an FPS gamer, not response time.

the difference to me is pretty obvious in this youtube video.. the center monitor is the dell 2311 IPS panel, the outside monitors are samsung 2333T PVA panels.

I would not use a VA panel as a primary gaming monitor.

Response time is just how fast the image refreshes. A faster response time will produce a sharper image during fast action scenes. What really matters is the input lag, which is what causes controller delay thus making aiming in first person shooters considerably more difficult on a display with high input lag. After a while you get used to the lag but it makes playing, at a disadvantage, on line.

i wanted an faster monitor ( 2ms nex gen ) because i thinked the games run better with the same frames.
