This is my buddy's FT02:

Magicool 3x 180mm radiator
2x GTX 580 in SLI
i7 2600K @ 5 GHz
EK waterblocks and reservoir

.... and the damned thing is as quiet at load as my fully aircooled FT02 (reference 7970 and Noctua NH-D14) is at idle. Neither CPU nor GPU temps ever reach 60 C.
Just curious you polish?...Or your "buddy" Polish?....Cause I know & see the same exact same picture on another forum...Whats your "buddy" name?

I'm the buddy :) And it's my FT02 rig
And no, I'm not polish, but Norwegian, I'd be curious to see a link to the polish forum.
I posted the worklog on a Norwegian forum, and i know someone reposted some pics of it over at xtremesystems.

I'm quite happy with the build, it runs quietly and cold, I managed to get my 2600k to 5ghz

I found the link...Now I don't know for sure if its Polish forum but when I copy & paste for English translate it gives me [ Polish to English ] some nice builds in that forum...Heres the link http://forum.purepc.pl/Chlodzenie-W...iekawe-chlodzenia-obudowy-t338846.html&st=150 some one by the name "aerial" has it post up!...
Thanx for the Norwegian forum will check out their builds:cool:

Nice plumbing Kalvin!
Few upgrades to mine I'd thought I'd post.

Saving for a Hydrocopper GTX680

@Japan, looks good man, a 680 in that loop won't stress it at all. That rad has a ton of cooling power.

I'm a little confused tho as to why u have only 1 quick disconnect tho? Am i missing where the other is hiding? Or is that thing between the cpu block and rad something else?

Also, why would you want a non windowed case to hide your great sleeving and WC? Personal pref i guess, but why not flaunt it if you've got it :)

It is funny how FT02 was considered as last case to recommend for water colling, and now there is so many builds in it, seems to be more popular than 800d lately.

@Imitation- The quick disconnect is in as a drain line. I realise that's not what they are meant for but it works. It's such a quality fitting. Well worth the money.
It also doubles as access to re mounting the cpu, which came in handy when I forgot to take the sticker off the plate of the block and I was getting 80deg+ idle temps
....I think everyone just lost all respect for my computer building skills xD

Trying to work on getting the pump quieter. It's a Laing Vario(whatever the koolance one is called) and its mounted in a XSPC bay res. Makes a loud hum but no whooshing or grinding.
Micro air bubbles or just a bad pump are my only assumptions.
Using Ice dragon coolant.

Anyone using GPU with Gigabyte Windforce, MSI Twin Freezer or Sapphire dual fan ?

I need ...erm ok want to change GPU :D I'd prefer Gigabyte but I'm not sure if it's FT-2 friendly

I'm annoyed with the 5.25in. bay covers on the FT02 Black:

1. Its ok if the finish is slightly different than the rest of the case but not ok from each other, exacerbated by different brush gradients from one cover to the next. This is a small and manageable problem.

2. The bigger problem is that they don't sit flush against with each other, there are visible gaps some as wide as 3mm. I never have this problem with any of my LianLi chasis.

3. The screw tabs on the bay covers are asymmetric in length. Facing the front of the case - the left tab is shorter than the right and worse unlike the right tab, it does not mount into a single screw hole but rather at the mid point of a long slit. This makes each bay cover too easily depressible on the left side if you handel the case (such as pulling it out under my desk for maintenance/upgrade).

Have any of you changed out the bay covers with something better? I've been eying this, will it fit right?

If not, I might go with this instead and populate the remaining 2 bays with my DVD drive and a Lamptron of some sort.

Check my build a couple of posts up. Yeah they work great. They got a lot worse since the rad though :/

@mangina - Just fill the bays with lots of superfluous hardware xD

Pretty sure all from major retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct) are USB 3.0 versions for quite some time now. I ordered mine months ago from Tiger Direct and got a USB 3.0 version.

I just got an ft02 and overall it works really well. However, my PSU doesn't seem to like the case....the fan always seems to be running at full speed and it is MUCH louder now than it was in my Antec p180. When I turn the computer on, all of the fans in the case spin up to full speed and then "normalize" but the PSU fan stays at that speed. I realize that the PSU placement in this case will make whatever noise it makes more noticeable, but I didn't even hear the thing at all before. The psu is an Antec Earthwatts 650w, I think.
When I mounted this psu upside-down in my p180, I noticed that it made a lot more noise. Could orientation have something to do with it? The sound is driving me crazy - I'm considering getting one of these to replace it, but I'd rather not spend more money if I don't have to.

Just replaced my GPU with a GTX680SC+. The machine at full blast is quieter than my ceiling fan and temps are great. Awesome all around. Incredibly happy.

EDIT: The only complaint I have is that I'd prefer to have another 3/8" room between the back panel and the mainboard base plate simply to make the wire routing easier and utterly painless.

You could always try turning the PSU around so that the fan is on the inside instead of outside.

Well, after lurking and reading pretty much this entire thread, I gutted my 3930k build, and ordered this case ( the solid panel silver ) with the microcenter 2600k april deal. I didn't want to bother with water so I ordered the Thermalright HR-02 Macho and I must say, on low fan setting, this case is almost dead silent.
I can't believe how much of a difference it is from my old Lian Li one. I do wish however, they provided another few mm of space on the backside for cabling and even smoother airflow in front, but still, this is the quietest and cleanest case I've had so far.

Anyone that's gotten one of these cases new in the last few months, are the front panel usb ports now usb3 or are they usb2 still?

I bought mine from amazon about 2 weeks ago and it has usb 3.

excellent, glad to see silverstone stepping up and continuing to update this great case. Amazon is OOS right now, ordered from tiger for 10 bucks more, hopefully their stock is new enough.

I got mine for Christmas, and it has USB3.

This is an awesome case, but it's apparent that whomever designed it didn't have a cat. Mine has made a game out of jumping on top and pressing the power buttons.

Haha, I luckily never had that problem with my otherwise inquisitive pets. Hopefully it was just a coincidence for your cats - the scary part is when they learn to push buttons for a specific effect.

He's done it far more than once. I now have him foiled with a shoe box resting over the button. Kind of ruins the pretty lines.

Had my eye on the FT02 ever since it was released, finaly decided it's time for a new build to replace my Q6600.

How is this spec looking?
Case: Silverstone FT02B-W
PSU: Corsair HX850W
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Fatal1ty Professional
CPU: Intel i7 3770K Ivy Bridge
Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE Red Edition / Corsair H80
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Red LP 16GB (4x4) DDR3 1866 MHz
SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 240GB
HD: Seagate 3TB Performance SATA III ST3000DM001
GPU: ATI 6970 (Already have, will upgrade later when new cards are out)

Going for a red and black theme. Want to keep it as quiet as possible but hope to run 24/7 @ 4.5ghz.

Any thoughts on which cooler will give me the best / quietest cooling in the FT02 i'm thinking the PH-TC14PE or the H80?

I'd probably pick a different board, not a huge ASRock fan, but everything else looks solid enough.

Get a real water loop, with a 3x180 rad. Probably $50-100 more up front, but with that much rad space you can easily put a CPU and 2 GPUs in the loop and be just fine for cooling capacity.

Yeah, I'd prefer an Asus but don't like all the blue heat sinks. The Maximus V looks good but its not out for a few weeks and will be expensive anyhow, I like the Gene but doesn't seem right for this build.

Theres some realy nice looking water setups on this thread, but i've never done one so would probably end up a mess. Besides i'm trying to keep costs down so a good air cooler will do the job.

I have no problems since day 1 build 2011 & my CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-1000HX to me, seems to be by far the perfect fittin' PSU for the FT02!...Check that Antec 650w...I love my FT02 nice & quiet:D

Got my FT02 in and set up. Space behind the motherboard is a little tight, but I don't have any major complaints about it.

Super quiet, and my load temps on my GPU and CPU both dropped by 10C. Can't argue with that.

There's plenty of room. Use some one hole wire clips ($1-2 dollars at Lowes or Home Depot).

so i have an older ft-02bw with usb 2.0 and the older fans. I plan on doing a newish build and will upgrade to the usb 3.0 but is it worth upgrading the fans? is ap181 the new or old model? a lot of reviews of the ap181 seem very poor.......

Yeah, it's a lot tighter than corsair or cooler master. It's perfectly do-able just need a little more effort than most. Glad you found such an improvement!

What reviews have you been reading? I already knew they are good but I checked google for a variety of reviews and all are 9/10 or more. Soooo.....

Btw, fn181 is the old ap181 is the new.

on newegg, a lot of people complain of fans breaking (although they still give high star ratings)

I ordered my FT02 a couple months ago for my new build and I love the thing.

I upgraded from an old Antec-900, I can't compare temps since it is a completely new build; However, the case is extremely quiet. My brother used to make fun of my old computer being a "jet plane" so this is a very nice change lol.

I do wish I would have done a but more research though, my Silver Arrow kinda bulges out the side panel since it is so large :/ Also, as others have mentioned, the back is a little cramped but it can be worked with.

You must have the Silver Arrow SB-E edition. I had a Cogage Arrow in mine and it fit fine.

I had one of the first reviews on the net of the AP181 fans and can tell you that if you are going to be running a high heat setup, such as multi-GPU the AP181 fans are worth it. If you're running a midrange card, or single high end card with no OC it won't really be worth it. You can find my review on [H] by searching "AP181 fan review." If cost is a concern, you can always just upgarde the fan underneath the GPUs instead of all three of them.

Speaking of fans, wasn't the successor to the AP181 supposed to be out by now? They showed it off way back at CES.
