Actually with some creative fan repositioning and a little modding you can get a massive radiator (like the Magicool 3x180) in the bottom of the FT02. Could mount another 2x120 at least in the front 5.26" bays (who uses optical drives anymore?) with meshed front. I've pondered going water again, but this thing is already so damn heavy I'd never be able to move it again if I put 30+ lbs of WC gear and liquid in it.

Throwing the rads into the front bays is a good idea. Thanks

Ya, there's someone on the forums here that has a really nice w/c'ed FT02 so its definately do-able. Im on your side though, its quite difficult to just drop parts in and go with this case, which is why ive got a TJ07 on its way to me in the mail as we speak.

Anybody in the StL area interested in buying an FT02 with the HDD rack modded out?

Funny, I'm planning on going back to the FT02 from my modded TJ07 when Ivy Bridge comes out =P

I miss the quietness of the FT02 WC'd compared to the TJ07.

Really? I don't find my FT02 to be all that quiet...though I also have 3 GPUs with squirral cage fans spinning in there...

:D It sure is!...Funny shit I have the TJ07 since 2003 great case I wont get rid off Its just collecting dust...Now When I go all liquid coolin' I might go back with TJ07 or The Obsidian Series 800D:D

I'm going all liquid when I get another FT02. Radiator fan noise is much louder on the TJ07 due to the fans facing towards you from the bottom basement (my TJ07 sits on my desk).

Just go to your local hardware store. I got mine from Ace Hardware for $2/pack (bought one pack of 1/2" and 3/4").

Do they have adhesive on them to stick to the back of the motherboard tray? I know it's a challenge to do cable management on the FT02

I hearz ya there!....I also keep my Rig on desk or at desk level always!:D

Argh.. I've had rattling in my middle fan for months, but turning off the comp and reseating the filter and fan housing itself usually fixed it. Today the fan blade ripped itself apart :(. 1 Year warranty ended back on Jan 4th as well...

I had the exact same thing happen to me but it was within the warranty period. I had a fan short out and melt the molex-3 pin adapter that comes with the case, then I had the fan explode on me like yours. I had both replaced and then used the fan blade from the shorted fan and put it on the fan that had its blades explode so I basically got a free 180mm AP fan out of the deal.

Need more mounting points for rads on this case. These Antec Kuhler 620s are getting really popular for gpu coolers. I plan on having two in my case soon and I still have my H60 that needs a spot. I would say thats my one gripe for this case. I would love a side panel with a couple of spots for fans.

Give SS an email/call. They're pretty good about helping people with this issue (there was a bad batch of fans).

Why not use the 180>120mm mounting brackets and put it over one of the 180mm fans on bottom (assuming you already have another H50/60/80 in the top 120mm spot)?

No such luck sadly, I've been informed I will have to purchase a new one. I had similar results mid last month with my PSU filter which was defective since purchase. I can't really fault Silverstone though, had I been more diligent and pursued either of these matters prior to my warranty ending I'm sure they would have taken care of me.

Maybe I'll wait for those new AP182s before doing deciding on what to do. In the meantime I swapped far left HDD fan with the middle one - a rather annoying venture after everything had been routed through the back via cable & zip ties haha.

Did anyone need extension cables for their rig? Going to put one together this weekend with a Seasonic 860 (have never used this PSU) and just curious if anyone had any trouble. Thanks for all the great info in the thread.

I wish my 6/8 pin PCIe power cables were longer on my Antec TruePower Quattro 1Kw but I realize this is an older supply and they reached just fine, I just couldn't run them easily / cleanly behind the motherboard tray so I had to go in front, the "direct" route. Doesn't look bad so I'm not that worried about it.

I used extension cable on my RIG its easier to route cables on the FT02, makes look very clean & professional!:D...
It all depends on the case & PSU...I hate strechin' cables especially when it comes to your GPU in some cases cables are all in your face! messin up the flow:mad:

Okay, I have a request for anyone who has the original USB 2.0 headers that came on the earlier FT02s. I've attempted to get an answer out of Silverstone, but their support doesn't seem to grasp what I'm asking.

The newer USB 3.0 header cable goes from two external ports to one internal cable. Does the USB 2.0 version do the same, or is it two separate cables coming from two separate ports?

Does anyone know if an RX360 with 3 normal size fans and with GTX 280, will fit in this case because by my calculations it fit in height but got no clue on length, and id like to be correct on the height aswell, cheers.

Depends on your definition of "normal size".

It'll fit provided you take out the 180mm fans AND their mounting brackets. My friend has an RX480 in the bottom of his FT02 with fans in pull and Radeon 6950s (10.5", same as GTX280).

The USB 2.0 version does the same, it has two external ports on the front going into an internal USB connector for connecting to the motherboard's USB 2.0 header.

Normal size fans as in AP-15s i want to put 360 rad at bottom without removing the first 180 fan?, would it fit in length?

And can the mounting brackets be removed without modding or?

My FT02 before I added the 540 radiator. And yes, you can remove the plastic brackets without any modding. Mine were a bit troublesome, so I just forced it, breaking a few of the plastic pins, but I knew wouldn't need them again.

Looks like i will be ordering this case then thanks mate.

Edit: Did you put anything underneath the rad or is it just laying on top?

Cheers

Yup a 360 rad will fit while leaving the 180mm fan under the HDD rack. Also the fans and brackets are really easy to remove, just a few screws and they slide right out.

My buddy's radiator just sits on the bottom of the case with nothing between it and the case.

Here is what i was thinking sorry for using your image Idef1x.

So you guys are sure that this will fit?

Tubing will most definately be 3/8 5/8.

Yeah should fit fine, just probably can't use super thick fans or rad, or you'll run in to clearance issues with the end of the GTX 280.

That's why im asking because the XSPC RX360 is a thick rad, but the fans will be 25mm thick, however i'm pretty sure it will fit thickness but not sure about the length.
