If you were to refuse delivery you would just have to catch the UPS guy upon delivery and let him know you are refusing it, no RMA slip etc.. However, since you have started the RMA process you may have a problem. I have never refused a shipment that I had notified the company in advance with requesting an RMA, maybe WorldExclusive or MissJ84 might have some more input for you on that.

I guess one happy note for the re-stock fee you get to keep the bracelet.. you do get to keep it right?

Think of the re-stock fee as a small payment towards the AP181's that came factory new installed in your case and be happy/done with it. You are still saving a bunch of money.

Another thought, you might refuse the delivery to save return shipping, and still eat the re-stock.. I'd be content with that if it were my issue.

Yeah they'll let me keep bracelet... woohooo... :rolleyes: I may have muxed this whole thing up by RMA'ing before I had the package but in my mind it made sense because I didn't need the fans. I had no idea you could refuse delivery and Newegg would refund the whole thing. Oh well. I learned something today. Still, the FT02 is an amazing case and I can't wait to build a computer in it. It's sitting by my desk all lonely for its guts :(.
 
What a tough choice...

A brand spankin' new red FT02, or another v1000. Hard to justify the price when Im still running 775 hardware.
 
So I caved and ordered three AP181's instead of selling my case and buying another one. If anyone's looking for cheap AP181's, they're only $18.99 at Directron and shipping is very cheap.

Considering I only paid $200 for my case BNIB coupled with the fans only costing $20 each, it would have been too much work to change cases for $10. I'm just happy I found AP181's for ~$20 shipped.

Ah, you never know, with my luck I'd be the one to refuse it and they would still charge me the re-stock.. so don't dwell on it. Like I was mentioning just prior, the $7.50 and tax is not that hard of a hit to eat as the case came with the upgraded fans in it already.. and you did not know this prior, hence why you ordered the extras. So that re-stock was an insurance plan.. plus you get a third fan!

I paid $23.99/ea + s&h, cheapest I found (but didn't buy) was sundial micro at $22.99 but they didn't have anything else I needed.
Good thing I bought a fan controller for my True at the same time to save some shipping, but damn man prior to shipping you shaved $15 off my price.. that's almost another fan at your price :p

My AP181 fans should be here Friday, so I'll let you know the temp difference. I have 3 drives installed Slots 1 (500GB Spinpoint), 3 (1TB WD Green), and 5 (500GB Spinpoint). Right now their temps are 27/30/28 (In Mac OS).

Hmmm, I've been eyeing this case and waiting for them to ship with the AP181s. I kind of want the windowless version for the better acoustical properties, though. Anyone who buys the windowless version care to chime in if those are being shipped with the APs yet?
 
got my red ft02. didn't install anything in it yet as I'm waiting for a couple more things. Gotta say i think the black looks better than the red interior. But i'll keep it for the upgraded fans.
 
Well got all my stuff yesterday and got it mostly put together. Had a good, bad ugly experience and need to share some stuff with Tony on this part.

First the good, My system is amazingly fast... SSD is just awesome, and with top of the line stuff in here I am in heaven speedwise. Second I like the looks a lot, and the installation went fairly smooth, more on that later. Case number 1022 BTW and here is a picture of it so far.

Now the bad (on the case that is since the rest of what I got was flawless besides what is mentioned). Sidebar... my Noctua came with some bent fins.... was a bit disapointing but not something I could not straighten.... box was fine, just bent at the corners. Now to the case...
The red as stated before does scratch easily and is to me a bit cheap... bear in mind I was prepared for this based on previous comments and I installed everything very carefully so I did not scratch mine at all, but there were some small scratches around the area where the card covers were, and I would imagine that they happened during factory installation of the covers which have to be screwed on. They are very small and not real noticable but for a premium case that is not cool.
Next I had to sleeve the front panel connector cables, and the top fan cable. Come on guys this is a premium case and I would have paid an extra 20 bucks to get ALL the cables sleeved. It was nice to see the lower fan cables sleeved but my Noctua came sleeved, my Corsair PSU came fully sleeved.... really no excuse on this case for not sleeving the cables.
As already mentioned, I had to drop my DVD to the second shelf, there is just no way it would work in the top one. I don't know what you guys used for testing when you made the case but an extra half inch would have made all the difference in the world there.
My final gripe os the drive mounts are a bit touchy.... they do not really lock in solid and that should be fixed. I am not going to move this around so I am not worried but that part felt a bit cheap in my opinion.

Now the ugly. When I first fired it up for testing the rear lower fan would not work. Fearing the worst I started messing with things to see what was going on. When I pulled out the filter it seemed very hard to remove, but finally came out. Then I turned it on with the filter off and it started up making a huge noise. After immediately turning it off I proceeded to learn how to remove the fans... which fortunately was easy. Once i turned the fan over I saw that there was a 2 inch piece of plastic attached to the fan shroud that was obstructing the blade. Turns out that was a part of the mold that was supposed to be removed and was still left partially attached. Once i took it off and cleaned off the place where it was attached, and reassembled it everything worked fine.
At this point the system is totally working, and i really like the case but that issue was to me completely unacceptable and means that there was zero quality control at the factory for that fan.... which makes me wonder a lot.

Overall I am happy with what I have, did not use the red sleeved cables since everthing came sleeved in black so still debating on that part... keep black or change to red... also I need a light in here now..... so looking in to that part...

Sucks about the fan.. nothing really to be concerned about nothing was DOA and it is all in working order. Also if you want sleeved cables sleeve them yourself.. thats half the fun dude.

Got sleeving from frozencpu. also still not sure on the Noctua..... The H50 that WorldExclusive has looks very clean...... but not sure about attaching that to the top fan.... At the very least I am probably going to paint the fan cage on that.
What are you guys thoughts on lighting..... LED or CCFL? I am looking for an ambient effect and not a neon sign look.... just want a small amount of red light in there for effect but have never done lighting beofre so not sure what I woud use.

All of those case issues I had also, expect for the fan. Anything that grabs onto the paint will scratch it.
It's like a museum piece. People love to look at it but they can't touch it.

What drives do you have that are cooking? :confused:
Obviously my SSD is reading 0c but my 640aaks reads 37c and my F3 1tb reads 34c with the regular 180mm fans on high.

I've seen worse temps in worse cooled cases with my 7200.10 Seagates (upper 50's), but that still is within the range of acceptable.
 
Just received my FT02 Limited Edition Red Interior. Some good news and bad news.

The good is that it's the best case I've felt in a while, and I've felt up a few in my day. Recent high end Lian Li's, Cooler Master Sniper and HAF X, even the Silverstone TJ10. This case not only hangs with the big dogs, it beats them all. The construction is solid, the fans look impressive, and the red interior is beyond awesome. It makes the case look expensive when combined with the unibody construction, which is far better than I had thought. Once you feel the unibody, you don't want to go back to non unibody cases, it's that good. Best of all, the filters are done better here than in any other case I've touched. You can tell a ton of thought was put into the filters, uber high quality here, especially when compared the Cooler Master HAF X, whose filters where like an afterthought. What wires are braided in black look nice, I wish they were all given the same treatment, but I'll take the ones that are braided. The power button feels extra nice. The side panels come off in a pleasing manner, unlike the HAF X. The side panels don't flex upon first inspection. The sound foam seems to have been done nicely. The whole thing impresses in person, even after studying detailed pics. I had a smile on my face when I first inspected it. I find the length of the case acceptable if you want to know. The Silverstone logo was done in a very nice fashion, shiny!

The bad is that the red paint will come off if anything metal contacts it. I watched it peel away as I put on the side door. Now I have to baby this thing for the rest of my life. A hard protective clear coat would do wonders, I would pay more for it, perhaps I could add one myself somehow, to seal it all in. The case seems are not perfect, esp with the plastic top, which I wish was metal, but it's not too bad, all very acceptable for the money paid. I expect the TJ11 to be much better with this issue, as it costs a bit more. I find the tool less parts on the 5.25" bays don't stay firmly pressed in, I won't be using them. The HD tool less parts also don't secure on both ends, and have a bit of wiggle room. In fact, they will fall right out if they are upside down say. Of course, your case should never be upside down, but still, how hard is it to secure these things? I think I prefer Cooler Master's tool less parts more, which did not have these issues and just worked. A flush window would be welcome here, but the one they have is decent and did arrive in great condition. The packing and box was done nice. For the case itself, I only feel comfortable picking it up by the unibody, and away from the bays, handles would be nice, as this case is heavy (but in a good way). But nothing here is a dealbreaker by any means.

The worst part of this purchase is that I can't do anything but look at it, as all I got was the case and fans... no mounting hardware box... no screws... no SSD bracket. After some searching and head scratching, I called up Silverstone, and they said they would take care of it. Good thing I'm waiting on my GPU card anyway, but if I have to wait longer than say a week, I will be upset, as my EVGA 480 is shipping on the 30th.

All in all, I'm very impressed with this case. I wish it was all thick aluminum, but the upcoming TJ11 will scratch that itch for me. But this case right here has very nicely done details, and I have no regrets buying. It makes me excited to see how the TJ11 turns out, as it has a larger build budget, and it's the flagship product from Silverstone.

If memory serves me correctly, I got number 1014. I'm a bit lost on why everyone is posting this info, but there it is. It would be cooler if I had some sevens in my number, my lucky number for a few reasons specific to me, but at least I didn't get like three sixes or something.

So this case is cool, and when you move on, it's a perfect stand in sled for those snowy days.

On a side note, I've noted we are all buying REX 3 mobos for this thing, with EVGA 480's and AX1200's. I even caved and bought a H70. Lots of similar parts going into our special unique "Limited Editions" LOL

How bout big fat ugly San Aces? lol

If I got the LE case I don't think I'd want to put a Rampage 3 in there. The red paint on the case takes away from the mobo's flashiness and it all kind of just blends together and disappears.

The filters on this model are very snug. The filters on my original FT02 used to slide out. I also don't see any gaps between the fans either which means less dust.

No accessories? Weird.

Why is your GTX 480 taking so long?

Who ever got three sixes should RMA.

R3E and AX1200 are some of the best parts on the market right now, so naturally you will put the best parts in the best case.

The only other fan in my research that comes close to the noise/performance of the GTs are the Noiseblocker Multiframe series. The GTs may be ugly, but they have a great personality :p you should give them a second chance!

I like to match my pc components. Red on red is sexy. The only colors I want in this case is red and black, perhaps gold. Then I can call it Iron Man.

I went from GTs to Gelid FW12BPL/FW12PL fans. Same noise/tiny bit better performance (1-2C) running at full speed, but I got them because they're PWM and quiet. My system generally isn't under load and owning this case has turned me into a bit of a silence addict. PS Didn't get them from Newegg as they're each $10 more.

The GTX 480 was the new Evga Superclock+ Edition, with the high flow bracket and backplate. It available now from NewEgg, but Amazon gets them late I guess. But Amazon also has 6 months no interest on the Amazon Store card.

What model did you get? M12-P, M12-S3HS??? Either way, when you get it, can you let me know if putting a fan on top of the H70 rad, allows for a Multiframe to fit under the H70 with one of the corners (vibration absorber) removed. If that clears the NB heat sink, I might pick up two of these.
 
I'm still having trouble picking a gpu for this new ft02 limited red edition case. My first graphic card choice for the ft02 was a lifetime warranty evga 480 card with high flow exhaust bracket and backplate, but I'm having second thoughts, only due to noise and heat. The zotac amp 480 seems to be much cooler running, as are dual 460s in SLI, the new upcoming zotac amp 460 looks sweet too. To top it off, almost none of these cards have displayport, a port I could really make use of to free up my display's one dvi port for my ps3. The exception is the displayport enabled zotac amp 460. I could rock a 5870, but I wanted to try NVIDIA, and in circles I go. I need to buy from amazon, I have gift cards and stuff, which limits my options. If I wanted an Asus matrix 5870 card for example, which would be good for all my needs and there is the single card argument over SLI being better, but Amazon they does not have the platinum version... and I need to pick as its the last thing I need besides the ssd for this build...

And then I read bits here and there about something on this case preferring a certain kind of graphics card airflow? What, does it only work well with external exhaust or something?

dude. just get a regular zotac gtx 480. Screw EVGA. With EVGA, it makes reselling your card complicated. The zotac will work well in the ft02 case, too.

This case was built for external exhaust cards that create a lot of heat, but I'm sure using a non reference card would be fine.

Again, you can probably get away with using any card you want, but the preferred card airflow is right on page 25 in the manual.

thanks for the advice, but why is EVGA hard to resell, I'm not understanding... or are they just doing something else to put you guys off? I was eyeing the Amp stuff from Zotac, but how are they as a brand on the plain jane cards? Any other brands on Amazon worth looking at?

thanks for the advice, but why is EVGA hard to resell, I'm not understanding... or are they just doing something else to put you guys off? I was eyeing the Amp stuff from Zotac, but how are they as a brand on the plain jane cards? Any other brands on Amazon worth looking at?

If you sell the card and it breaks with the new owner, the whole warranty process will have to go through you to get the new owner's card serviced since you registered the card. That's the problem with EVGA.
