My Gigabyte board only lets me put in sli right next to each other w/ this case since the last pci-express slot can't be used. Thankfully i'm swapping to a single GTX 470 which should lower my temps

I recently purchased this case and am happy with it so far. I was originally going for a micro-atx build, so I only have an Asus Gene III in it, two hard drives, a 5870, and a Megahalems Rev. B.

Temperature wise, changing the fans on the bottom from low to high dropped temperatures on my overclocked i5-750 by about 5c. It is a little noisy for me at that level so I will most likely swtich them back to low. At the low setting they are acceptable but not completely silent. The noise they make is decent though, it is not a high-pitched whine but more of a slower whoosh (as expected with a fan this size).

I have been able to overclock my i5 750 to 4 GHz stable with fans at low, and my 5870 is overclocked pretty far as well and it is idling around 40c with its fan at 25%.

I can honestly say that I didn't run into any problems using this case for my build, but then again, it was an easy build due to the small number of components I fit inside the case.

Does anyone know how I would go about changing the power and HDD led's? blue is just too bright in a dark room.

you could always just cover them up with tape.
Seriously?

I thought BRIGHT lights were a little played out 5 years ago. sad to see them still including them in cases.

actinium, There are a few different PC modding sites that offer replacement LED's and depending on how handy you are with a soldering iron it should be a very quick & easy mod.

Since I don't own this case I can't comment on exactly the size of LED you'd need (little help guys?)

Anyone bought a red edition of the case? Impressions, pics? The pics of the interior that are available are not really that impressive. Maybe I just don't like bright red, or maybe it's because it's not anodized?

Someone in this thread has one (I remember seeing the pics). I think he said the red can scratch off since it's just paint. Personally I don't feel that bright of a red and the black of the case match very well. The contrast of the colors conflict too much.

Hell, the black on the inside of the regular black model scratches off....it's come off where the PCI cards screw in on mine from my GTX 260 shrouds so it's clearly not anodized or powdercoated on there, it's just some sort of cheaper paint. :(
It saves me the mod work of doing it myself but I'd expect more of a case of this price, that's all.

lol, I get this GTX 470, thinking finally 1 card, gonna get lower temps....

Then I find this.....

Awsesome... card is idling @ 70 deg now -_-

I just switched my rig over to the limited edition red version, and I couldn't be more impressed with this case. If I knew how to post a pic here, I would:D

The only real reason I went with the red is that it comes with the new AP fans, and I didn't want to mess with trying to upgrade them later...or purchase them for that matter.

The red is really grown on me though as I went through the build...I find it very striking and it truly makes the case look unique and --sporty--in a way.

For those who are complaining about the red paint coming off...I really don't see how that is happening, unless you are super rough with the build. The only thing I saw was where the screws dig in where you attach cards to the bracket...but that is hidden anyway and a non issue. It is supposed to be a powdercoat, which is durable, but I don't know. Now that everything is installed, I'm not concerned about scratches.

Temps and noise are exactly what I was hoping for--running a tidy 4 ghz (air) on the 920 w/HT using the low fan setting, and it is quieter than my previous water build.

Although the price is high, I am fully satisfied with the product. I can see having this one around for several years/builds.

Me as well cproflow. I am moving my stuff out of my tj09bw tonight and into the wri. The case is beautiful.

I was wondering if running surround causes the gpus to run in 3d mode as well since there are 3 monitors? I hadn't thought of that little issue until now....

As for the card not downclocking, it is just strange that this problem persists. I'm running two 470s across three monitors and they downclock just fine - in Surround. Apparently, whatever downclocking fix Nvidia applied for Surround has not been retrofitted to their single-card solutions.

It has, its just doesnt work on Monitors of different sizes/resolutions/refresh rates.

If your monitors are all the same specs, which they need to be for surround, then they downclock fine.

I should probably make a thread about this, but I'm wondering if anyone with an X58 Classified (E760) running in this case could help me with a decision. I made a trade for a 3x2GB kit of memory, but I don't know which set to pick. Everyone over at the Evga forums told me to grab the pi and I have read great reviews on them, but the one thing I'm worried about is the higher heat spreaders. I'm afraid the Vreg, which I've read runs hot, will get less air running over it. I'll eventually be going water, but I'll probably use an extra H50 I have with the hope a substantial amount of air hits the NB and Vreg. Anyway, here are the two kits I can choose from.

Has anyone posted any functional mods? I looked through about 30 pages and didn't see any.

The only "mod" I've really seen is putting some foam on the back of the drive bay covers to reduce vibration/sound. I've found using cable clamps on the backside of the case is fantastic for cable management, but wouldn't really call that a mod. Can you think of areas you'd like to increase the functionality of this case? The only I can think of is enlarging the backplate hole, but I'll live.

I was thinking adding exhaust fans, this case has over 7 times more intake than exhaust. Not too many places I see to add them. The best I think would be between the video card and drive bays, it could exhaust out the expansion slots and the area to the side of them, could prolly fit 160x160mm there. Maybe one where the 5.25" drive bays are, just use the lower drive bay, top 3 would be for the fan, but this one wouldn't be very effective place for exhaust. Maybe one below the power supply, but this wouldn't be that effective at all. And of course you could also mod the side panels. I think either an exhaust or intake right behind the cpu can be good, there's a lot of heat on the back side, I think someone posted this mod before and said it lowered cpu temps by 5°C. Maybe you could even attach a lower profile heat sink here too, not a bad idea for a new cpu cooler, basically extracting the heat from both sides of the cpu. An intake by the video card could be great too, could even make a slight angled duct so it blows up slightly.

Adding more exhaust fans doesn't do anything for this case. At one point I had a panafo L1A as the top exhaust and a GT1450 in a kama bay exhausting out the front. It didn't make any difference. It'd be cool if you could come up with a back cooler, but there isn't that much room for one imo.

Thats cause of your dual monitors that aren't identical, known issue. What are your temps on LOAD though... and what case are you coming from?

yah read bout that. No new case, just changing from SLI 9800 GTX+'s to this card. Was surprised at the hot idle since all other cards I used didnt have that.

I hear this is fixed in the GTX 460's though

Load on OC 775/1550/1880 I'm hitting about 85 gaming now max, 95+ in furmark (I always shut it off, I know it'll go higher)

I read most of the thread. Some people noted that there is not enough room for cables behind the mainboard tray. I used self-made cables with the correct length. You can also use the screw holes in the mainboard tray to fix the cables.

I used a Silverstone Strider ST-60F which has all modular cables.

That's nice and all (and great job on your system) but this thread is for the FT02 . . . not the RV02.

I don't think anyone's complaining that there's no room at all, I think the consensus is that there's room, but it's a tight fit, the side panel is sometimes a PITA to get back on (depending on how thick your cables are back there), and an extra 1/4 or 1/2" would do wonders.

Some cases have no room, some cases have room but you want more, some cases have more than enough room and are awesome to work with (HAF 922 comes to mind as one I've personally worked with - there's a ridiculous amount of room behind the motherboard tray in that case since the side panel is flared out). FT02 has room but we want more; I'd rather the case be a 1/2" wider and have an extra 1/2" behind the tray for thicker cables. ;)

How do you remove the bottom fans on the FT02? Hopefully it's not a big pain in the ass. Even with dust filters, fans still get dusty and need to be cleaned.

I'm getting the FT02b with 3 AP181's for max cooling with the least noise.

To remove the fans you need to remove the sleds they're on. You don't need to remove the fans in order to take out the dust filter though. It's not the most convenient thing to do (removing the fans), but mine haven't gotten terribly dusty.

Seems like this case is a no-go for me because my motherboard has front-facing SATA ports. Looks like that will interfere with the fans below, particularly if I place a 360mm rad there.

The radiator won't get in the way since the brackets put it more towards the window side of the case. There's enough room for your rad.

It's too bad only the signature series has the new AP181 fans. Seems like they offer a big improvement.

Looks like I'll be hanging onto this case until corsair releases a 600D. Still quite frankly can't find a case on the market I'd rather have instead. It keeps my gtx 480s idling at 45c on the low fan setting.

Anyone using AP181 fans in the FT02. Are these fans strong enough in low mode to get away with not using a top fan and no CPU fan just the heatsink?

Wow! I didn't realize this thread was still active. I didn't think there would be that much interest in this case when I posted due to the rotated motherboard configuration but I guess I was wrong. :D

Yup, see my review here.

On high you wouldn't need an exhaust fan. As for a CPU one, probably not. It is fairly loud though (for me at least... I like quiet).

I'm returning my scout sniper and picking this up in Silver. I want something sleeker and quieter and less plasticey looking.

the biggest problem I had was w/ the power connectors that have multiple connectors on the outside

I also made a mess of a bundle @ the bottom.
But yeah I was amazed It still fit, I guess the foam contouring allowed that.
