About the xga designations for monitors i am wondering what the 1920X1200 pixel through 3840X2400 and below 1024X768 are ...

xga (1024X768), wxga (1280X768), sxga (1280X1024), uxga (1600X1200).
Also since mfgr are stoping making tubes for crt, we are going to have to only buy lcd in the next few years. I will consider those when they get closer to 12ms response time and $800.... yea right $5000 for a lcd.

Manufacturers are switching over to LCD-only manufacturing, yes. CRTs are about done, and once LCD technology advances a little more, likely every manufacturer will stop making the things altogether.

12ms LCDs are already out, with an 8ms BenQ coming out later this month. There's no LCD monitor that costs $5000--you're confusing them with large-size LCD TVs.
