Resolution

In my Catalyst Control Center 7.7 I see that the highest resolution I can set my 17'' screen right now is 1440*900. I have a RADEON X800 series. Does this mean when I get a 22'' with 1650*1050 resolution I won't be able to set it to that resolution?
 
Whats the point of getting a 22" LCD if you can't run it at native resolution? My 7800GTX 256MB G-card can't handle a 22" monitor either. Best thing to do is upgrade both G-card & monitor if your pockets are that thick.
 
i think it only allows you to choose up to the maximum resolution that your monitor can handle...

I have a 7800gs slower than what you've got and it runs 1680X1050 fine on my 20 inch ws. Only games it has trouble with are the really new ones or ones that need a ton of Ram which I don't have like BF2142.
