How to set 'the setting,' eh? Well, sir, I would recommend doing some research. Throwing a lot of money at a new computer before you even know what resolution means seems like a bit of a waste. Unless someone here has near-identical parts and software, there's little info anyone can reasonably give you.

To get you started for yourself I'd recommend doing some Google'ing on terms that you're unfamiliar with, and perusing review sites to learn about your hardware. As far as 'settings' go, I'd recommend trying stuff out. Install your games and spend some time, like the rest of us, figuring out the best settings in each for your system. Start by setting the resolution in your games and desktop to 1680 x 1050 resolution. That is the maximum your monitor can support, and your computer should have no problem running any current game at that setting. From there, just set everything else to its maximum, and try lowering options a bit a time to get a good visual quality / performance ratio.

Oh, and congrats on the new comp (Gateway, I presume?)

Well, you obviously have a bang-up system, quite expensive Im guessing, as well. In any case, do you know what your monitor's native resolution is? Thats what you should run your games at with al lthe bells and whistles enabled :) If something in a graphics option in a game say "for better framerate" you *dont* want it.

If everything runs too slow (which it wont), then scale back.

Have fun!

looking at your specs and the monitor you are running it with, you should be able to run all 3 of those games at near to max settings. I'm running BF2 with all medium settings at 2560x1600 res (no AA/AF dont need it with this res) on a 64 player map with no hitch with a single 1900xt. So you should be able to tear through that at max settings with minimal AA/AF at native res.

The native resolution of your monitor is 1680 x 1050. Your card will be able to push that resolution just fine. I suggest that you run all your games at 1680 x 1050. Some games will not support that resolution right out of the box so you have to force the software to use that resolution.

This site will tell you all you need to know.
