Resolution vs Eye Candy...

if you snipe, resolution. if you shotgun, eye candy.

of course you could be one of those utterly ridiculous "competitive gamers" that needs 180FPS all the time *cough* in which case, neither. drop everything to 800x600 with no eye candy and run around with your semi-automatic of choice :p
 
I wouldn't game with a LCD TV. Maybe its changed but dotpitch on TV's were always noticable when sitting close for game play. The image appears less clear.
 
When did resolution not count as part of the eye candy? Must have missed that train…. I prefer to lower AA first, Shadows second, AF third, shaders/textures fourth and then screen res… However this all depends on how the game looks, for example Crysis I would lower res before shadows..
