My video card runs at a resolution of 1680 X 1050. How is that compared to HDTV 1080p? Is the resolution around the same, or different, or what? Thanks. Any help would be appreciated.

Your video card can run at a lot higher rez than 1680 but your monitor's maximum resolution is 1680.

1080p is 1920x1080.

1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
1680 x 1050 = 1,764,000 pixels

That is 17.55% more pixels than 1680x1050.
