Resolution problems with Radion x1900

Hi

I recently brought an ati x1900 xtx card, previously I owned a geforce 6800. very pleased with the performance but I seem to be having some issues with the resolution options I have in games. With my nvidia card I used to use 1680 x 1050 in most games, as im running a 2405 wide screen monitor.

I tired to set this resolution in quake 4 using the config file, when the game loaded I got a message stating I had a video card problem. So is this setting not available with this card, I seem to have sparse options with higher res widescreen resolutions, in oblivion my options jump from 1360 x 768 to 1900 x 1200, I need somewhere between that ideally.

Is there a way of forcing the catalyst driver to make more resolutions available? Cheers for any help, pretty new to using ati stuff as you can tell
thanks

Lol.. second time I reply to this sort of question...:p

Do as illustrated bellow...

Edit: image buggered... just download powerstrip and add the custom resolution. Should then have no problems running that resolution. Also.. are you sure you've installed the proper LCD driver in order to use this resolution?

Or
Using the CCC

1. Click displays Manager in advanced view
2. Click the Force Button
3. Use the mouse to cursor over to the display feature to force
4. Highlight and then click the required settings.

You can also set a maximum display and force it through the CCC like so...

Second time I'll say too... sometimes that thing just sucks and use powerstrip if your res is not in there. ;) :p

I could not succesfully get 1680*1050 with the ATi thing, np with powerstrip. It's just registry entries for normal res's, so you won't need to keep it or have it boot with the system. Naturally, you could even toss it off your sys if you want. I wouldn't though. I think when you install a new driver you'll have to do it again.

Although with that LCD you are probably ok to use ATi driver. Just my Fw900 and all the res and Hz it's capable of, that combo box driven dealie is inadequate. Couldn't put in my custom 95Hz for 1920*1200, and 1680*1050 was straight up missing. Useless for me.
