Resolution problems. Big resolutions before drivers installed, Limited after.

Ok, so here is a good question. Before I install my display drivers, (for my ATi Radeon HD4850) I can get very big resolutions. Like up to 1280x1024. But when I install my drivers, I am limited to 800x600 to 1024x768.

Also, I have been using the right drivers.

Why is this?

Have you installed the monitor's .inf file? That should tell the computer all it's resolution options.
