I've noticed that on most of the water setups that if a resivor is being used then there's no need for a fillport and vise versa. I was wondering if they can both be used on the same system? If so, could someone please tell me where I would "tee" in the fillport hose. Here's a picture of the waterkooling setup that I want to impliment the fillport into.

And here's the fillport I would get if this is doable.

dont see why knot

but then again why WOULD you?

seems pretty pointless to me

the point of the fillport is to allow you to fill your t line. the point of the res is to be able to fill your system. the red cap on your res acts the same as your fillport you want. there is no need/reason to install a t line and a res.. they serve the same purpose.. although i guess you coud try to mod a tube from the red cap part up to the top of your case to put a fillport in.. although why spend extra money on something you really dont need and really wont affect anything?

thats what i meant. but you used more words :)

if you could find a way to connect the fillport to the red cap on the resevoir, wouldn't it make filling/bleeding the system easier, since you could leave the resevoir at the bottom of the loop and just put the fillport at the top?

that is why i suggested attaching the hose to the top of the res to the top of teh case to a fillport.. but realistically, if you have to go find a hex key to open the damn thing, i'l have my res filled in half the time. not to mention you dont need it and i personally think a 2 foot long 1/2" tube sticking straight up half filled with liquid is ugly and destroys the flow of the WC loop.. but that's just me

It doesnt matter where the t-line or resevior is in relation to anything else... it does not need to be at the top of the case. Water pressure takes care of everything.

except if his rad is at the top of the case trapping air...

My res is the lowest point in the loop - eight inches below the computer. Filling has never been a problem; opening the res has no affect on my fun...

The res DOES need to be higher than everything during the fill phase.

No it doesn't, and neither does the fill-port. As long as air can't get into the lines, it can't displace the water and thus no water will exit.
However, it is helpful to have the radiator in a position so that air won't get ttrapped in it. Even if it is the high point of the system, you can still orient it so the barbs are at the top and air will be flushed out.
