my first taste of resident evil was 2 for the n64 and i loved it. now i have a gc, and i want to get back into the survival horror goodness i once enjoyed so much. i know that the original came out before zero, but if i want to play all of the games in order (while maintaining the storyline) should i buy re: zero or the original first? then there is code veronica coming out for the gc soon, how does that fit into the storyline? i am currently thinking that the correct recommended playable order is:

Resident Evil
RE: 2
RE: 3
RE: Code Veronica
RE: Zero

is that correct?

Nemesis
Gaiden
Survivor (the gun one, can't remember the name)
Code Veronica X

That'd be all of them. I don't think the gun one came out for the GC though.
 
if you wanna follow the actual timeline, Zero comes before the RE remake, but they stand on their own and can be played in whatever order...
