I have to admit, I have never played a Resident Evil game of any sort, but it seems to be the big thing today. The Guru of 3D crew have worked up a review from an enthusiast perspective. Do you have the VRAMs you need or not? Maybe. Good stuffs.

This video is likely NSFW.

The graphics are not bad TBH, the results however are all over the place and that makes this article an indicative one. You will run at 100 FPS at one point and then at 50 FPS the next, this is the complexity of the game and environment. Perhaps a few driver updates will bring the weird differential results a bit closer to each other, then again if most graphics card offer 50+ FPS at 2560x1440, we do not see a real issue either. With full quality settings a 4 GB or higher VRAM card does feel better and smoother to play.

So if you have wild frame rate fluctuations like that due to the complexity of the graphics... you turn on a frame limiter.

Their numbers seem off to me; a R9 390X keeping up with a GTX 1080 at 1440P doesn't add up. Granted this is max FPS and it could have reached that for all of 2 seconds.

well seeing those fury being much slower than RX470 doesn't make sense as well. this game probably was made with 60FPS max in mind. probably why the FPS can drop from 100 to 50 instantly.

This is typical of game day releases. Sad in 2017 we still have to wait for patches and new gpu drivers to fix the broken games.

I hate to say it but, unfortunately this is most likely the new norm with PC gaming from here on.

I now wait for the first few reviews to come out on the game to see how broken it is before buying the game. This way I don't waste my time or money.

Running great for me on my sig rig, with only a single 1080 at 4k all maxed out except SSAO ambient occlusion, HBAO+ kills performance badly at these settings. Using the Windows Store version because I had a $100 Microsoft gift certificate so free $90 game works for me. About an hour into it, much more my style than prior REs, seems like a basic horror first person adventure/shooter to me.

I saw on the forums that the people were having issues with the final game where as those issues had been patched out of the demo, so it might just be a matter of Capcom releasing an equivalent patch for the full game. HBAO+ did initially cause a huge hit on the demo, but they tweaked it and I was able to maintain much higher frame rates, however, if you want consistently high frames, it's likely best to stick with SSAO.

I've was comparing SSAO and HBAO+ bit just now, I really don't see the difference, it's such a dark game anyway.

Numbers are all over the place in a way they shouldn't be.

Wait wait WAIT. RX480 beats 1070 and Titan X(maxwell)!? in an Nvidia sponsored title?

the guy in the video has essentially no reaction when he's impaled multiple times through the hands, torso, and face by a 10" Kitchen knife, and apparently pouring some alcohol on it heals wounds like wolverine.

I bet you're also the type that questions movies like Die Hard aren't you? lol!

Say this out loud 3 times:

It's just a video game.

Its a little disappointing to have just bought a GTX1080 only to see Titan X murder it in every benchmark, but man Its literally twice the price. Just can't justify that.*turns in [H] card*

I bet you are fun to go to the movies with....

I would ask that you henceforth refer to Titan X by its formal name: "Jen Hsun's Private Reserve". It's the implement of ultimate gaming luxury. Baron von Trump just took possession of one for his gamecube

Played the Demo tonight and gotta say it looked pretty impressive as far as environment. Still a bit of work needed on NPC models and behavior ie: walking.
