My CPU defaults back to 1.8GHz around 1 out of every 10 reboot... but why? I can game for hours without a hitch at 3GHz, and I know the OC is stable.

Specs in sig... thanks in advace!

Gaming for hours is a crappy stability test....It obviously not as stable as you think....have you run memtest86+ (a few passes) and prime95 (8 hrs.) and has it passed both?

What RAM speed are you running? Also what FSB are you running? (I presume you are doing 9x333) I've seen that at high RAM speeds or high FSB speeds, the Gigabyte board will fail something on post and reset back to default settings.

Put my pics on a new host... they are in the first post

thanks!

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm having a similar problem. My E2160 is at 2.8ghz and the bios resets every time the computer is turned off, and then back on again. Not to be confused with a reboot (which does not reset it). I turn my computer off at night to sleep, and then the next day when I turn it back on, the settings are reset.

Yeah my brother's E2160/DS3L system constantly resets the OC.
It only seems to be occurring randomly when he unplugs the power source from the PSU. As long as the PSU stays plugged in (and switched 'on') the settings are fine.

I am going to try unplugging my DS3L for a while and see what happens, hrmm...

Post over at tweaktown there's an official Gigabyte forum with a GB representive.

Last I checked 50c idle is not a good temperature, even for an oc ;-)

Go back to stock and run your tests again, if you can go on a 24 hour prime on that then start to up your OC again but hitting 50c on idle will only lead to bad OC results.
