i am now looking for a fourth reservoir. my previous 3 have all been tube style with threaded caps, and all three have cracked either around fittings, or in the threaded areas around the end caps. i am over it. i don;t run a traditional case, so bay res is out.

anyone got a suggestion for a large capacity res that is not made of plastic? at this point i am thinking of doing my own out of brass and brazing it together

Most, if not all, reservoirs are either tube or bay with the exception of the mcres. I would doubt anyone here would have any type of recommendations that isn't a tube or a bay. You'll be better off just creating one especially made/designed for your specific application.

I use one of the Monsoon MMRS tube reservoirs. They use metal rods and screws to hold the end caps on, not plastic threads, so they're quite a bit more robust. There's a review here. I can tell you it's built like a tank, has good quality o-rings and great quality control. Pretty sure I could beat someone to death with it and it wouldn't leak or crack.

I've made a few out of PVC and they hold up pretty well. It's fun spending an hour at home depot plugging fittings/adapters together until you get one that meets your requirements

I've thought about buying scrap copper pipe, maybe 2" or 3", and then soldering/brazing ends onto it.

I don't use a case, nor do I desire to use one. My sig explains it readily enough, and pictures are out there

That MMRS setup looks interesting. Prefer if the acrylic was thicker, but the loads on the edges are uniform.
