heya, I decided to test that watercooling kit I bought, and this is a damn good thing I did, because about 3.5 hours into the testing I found a growing leak in my reservoir lid and the barb for the output...

in any case, I need your help with something, being new, I dont know where to get a 5.25 bay reservoir that isnt going to break my bank and not suck at the same time... so i'm looking for some reservoir pros who have experience with this...does anyone have any website, amazon, or e-bay links where I can buy a good res for a decent price... my setup is 1/2" ID... any help is appreciated, thank you
 
The swiftech res shown just above this post is the best bay res ive come across. Not as pretty as some but mostly durrable. Myself i have one of the typhoon resevoirs and it cracked the first day i got it. About 1/4 of a tube of good silicone sealer later it stopped leaking but myself i would venture away from bay resevoirs. They have track history of being prone to breaking. The best designs ive seen for resevoirs are cylinder style ones and the reason is that for one they are usually made of aluminum or steel and two even the acrillic ones still hold up well because rounded items by nature are stronger because any energy introduced to one point of the surface is absorbed by the rest of the rounded surface thus making it very strong and durrable. As i like to refer to it as "LAN Proof". However mounting them involves some creativity or some case modding. My best suggestion is mounting those hanging from the top of the case. Most mount in a 80mm fan spot so you may need to make a mount for it (3 inch hole saw is pretty darn close to 80mm if you are in pinch to make a mod). Now if you are still dead set on a bay res by all means go for it. They are really nice looking but you gotta be sure to be extremely careful handling it and with all your fittings and also DO NOT USE BRASS OR METAL FITTINGS WITH ACRILLIC!!!! This only spells trouble. From first hand experience its just not fun (hints at own resevoir). Just use plastic fittings with teflon tape and maybe a little silicone sealer. Works like a charm.
