If anyone has WinDAS, the serial cable, and an HP A7217A, I kindly request a WinDAS dump of your settings. I tried a while ago to download mine to back them up before tweaking my monitor and every attempt resulted in an error with a defaults.dat file that had gaps and various missing sections. It's the file that's roughly 14KB when dumped from your monitor via WinDAS.
I tried to use WinDAS to generate a defaults.dat and reset everything, then upload it, and this resulted in me losing the ability to control the geometry and size settings in the monitors OSD. Trying to restore my backed up defaults.dat to the monitor failed because the file that I had originally dumped had gaps and missing data, it was close to the standard 14KB but a bit short.
I really hope some kind HP A7217A owner who is familiar with WinDAS can send me an uncorrupted defaults.dat from their A7217A, it doesn't have to the original one, an edited copy will work just fine, I just need a solid base to work from.
On another note, re-downloading the WinDAS generated defaults.dat works OK, so I know the memory area that it's written to in the monitor is sound.
Also, if anyone has a source for a replacement flyback transformer for the HP A7217A or FW900, let me know, mine has gone bad. This shows itself when an all white screen is up the monitor goes into what seems like an energy saving mode, the orange LED blinks and the monitor needs to be shut down for a few seconds then turned back on to recover. This is what originally got me starting with tweaking with WinDAS, changing the G2 value helped fix this problem, but brought about the inability to use the geometry and size functions in the OSD due to my monitor have a corrupted copy of the settings in the writable memory area.
