Request - 90hz LED e-IPS 30-inch 16:10 2560x1600

Question - what's the benefit of having 90Hz? Is it so that if a game is running up to 90 fps, the game still looks smooth on the monitor?

I think the OP wants 90hz @ 2560x1600 as it's roughly the maximum that Displayport 1.1 can provide. Not going to happen tho. All ATI 5 series cards are DP 1.1, with DP 1.2 still being ratified and no cards or monitors likely this year.

But yes, games will be smoother with greater hz as the fps delivered will be this value (assuming your gfx card is fast enough of course).

You could just split the signal and use two cables. If so you could even do 120 Hz with DVI on yesterdays graphic cards.

Something tells me that trying to sync that up would incur some nasty input lag, or that it wouldn't quite work right.

The IBM T220 did this with four single-link DVI connections.
Shouldn't necessary need to involve a lot of input lag.
