• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.

so I guess using this to have posts moved to the correct forum would be a wrong use?
(we've had a couple posts in the Cars section that should be FS...)

No, it's really a general-use notify-the-mod button. It's just that no one has ever changed that text.

any chance it could be changed so as not to confuse people and waste valuable forum bandwidth with questions like this?

Just consider that button as a moderator 911 for all general purpose problem notifications. :)

Give the moderators time to deal with the problems first. If nothing is done and it gets out of hand, holler...it's appreciated if we miss something. But don't be reporting each and every little thing you think is inappropriate.

Of course, this is JMHO.

Rags is right, give them some time to work, we are not on 24/7 so there may be some lag in the response time, but in general we get the job done pretty quickly. If it is a major event that needs immediate attention, hit the button and most likely you will get an Admin within minutes if the Moderator isn't online.

studpid question: where is that button? I saw some advertising/ referral spam in [H]ot Deals recently and I wasn't sure how to report that.

Because the moderators and admins are people to, most have lives away from the computer and families :D

thanks, i feel educated now :) - sorry if that was OT, I really was looking for that button for quite a bit though.
